The University of Cincinnati and the entire Bearcats program received excellent news yesterday after injured quarterback Zach Collaros was a full-go at practice on Monday and said he could play in the Liberty Bowl if it was today.
Head coach Butch Jones and Cincinnati gave Collaros a full workout and even had him scrambling while attempting a number of different throws.
Collaros can still feel some pain when attempting certain throws, but with the Liberty Bowl still 11 days away, there is more than enough time to heal up a little more.
While he is a little sore after working out the ankle, that is to be expected after putting so much pressure on it in practice.
The senior quarterback is more than a month ahead of schedule and is making a remarkable recovery from a surgery that happened only five weeks ago.
Getting out on the field one last time is very important for Collaros, even though he will not be back next season.
