Washington State head coach Mike Leach thought that his team had their best performance of the season against the Oregon Ducks on Saturday night. And they still lost by 25 points. The Cougars played No. 2 Oregon (5-0, 2-0 Pac-12) tough for the first half before the Ducks turned on the afterburners and pulled away after the break to a 51-26 win on Saturday night. While the Cougars (2-3, 0-2) did improve from a baffling home loss to lowly Colorado a week ago, Washington State's rebuilding road continues to have many pitfalls along the way. Connor Halliday threw for 348 yards and Marquess Wilson had 12 catches for 182 yards and a touchdown to become Washington State's all-time leader in yards receiving.
