Latest Michigan Transfer Kurt Wermers Was Ineligible All Along Former Michigan offensive lineman Kurt Wermers told The Times of Northwest Indiana that Michigan's coaches were to blame for his request to transfer. Wermers said the coaches recruited players who were "not my kind of crowd" and echoed the sentiments of former Wolverines offensive lineman Justin Boren in describing how a family atmosphere under previous head coach Lloyd Carr had turned to a strictly business under RichRod.  That's what Wermers wanted us to believe. Turns out, the only business that mattered was of the academic variety, and that's where Werners fell short. ESPN.com reported that Wermers was academically ineligible and unable to suit up for the Wolverines this fall.
