The famed 'Bird Man' first appeared at the U.S. Open during Webb Simpson's ceremony, he has now made an appearance at the Notre Dame-Navy game in Dublin, Ireland. Check it out below! Andrew James Dudley, 40, of Wallasey, United Kingdom snuck in front of TV cameras at the U.S. Open and made bird noises before he was hauled off by police. On Tuesday, Dudley ran out on the field during the Notre Dame-Navy game, stole the ball and danced in the end zone.

Five Bold Predictions About Notre Dame Football in 2012

Yesterday we published Five Bold Predictions about this upcoming season, and today we return to offer five more about the Fighting Irish. Brian Kelly is entering the fabled third year as coach, when all the former great Notre Dame coaches won national titles. Kelly won't be the hot seat, and nobody's expecting a national title this year, but people still have high hopes...

'Jungle Bird' crashes Notre Dame game

The fan known as "Jungle Bird" has struck again, this time interrupting Saturday's Notre Dame-Navy college football game in Ireland. This time, he somehow got a hold of a football, ran to the end zone with it, spun it on the ground and did an Irish jig. (DISCLAIMER: Holdout Sports does not condone this type of behavior.) The television broadcasters didn'...

Notre Dame Drops 50 Points on Hapless Navy Midshipmen in Dublin

While most of the talk surrounding the Notre Dame Fighting Irish during the offseason was about suspensions, police trouble, injuries and the ever present quarterback controversy, the only thing anyone will be talking about over the coming week will be the physical manhandling the Irish gave the Navy Midshipmen in their season debut.  Notre Dame eschewed the spread offense that...

Notre Dame football demolishes Navy, 50-10

The Notre Dame football season couldn’t have started off any better than this. In a game played in Ireland where Navy was the home team (wait… what?), the Fighting Irish lived up to their name sake and played with all the ire of the Emerald Island. Notre dame took a page out of Navy’s play book and ran the ball down the Midshipmen’s throat mercilessly, attempt 46 rushes...

Notre Dame may run to success under new QB Golson

Notre Dame fans may wonder if Everett Golson, who showed poise in his first start, has what it takes to be the starting quarterback this season. That question might not matter so much if the Irish keep dominating both sides of the line the way they did against Navy. In Saturday's 50-10 blowout in Dublin, Ireland, the redshirt freshman from South Carolina exceeded modest expectations...

Notre Dame 40 Navy 10: nuggets and tidbits

There was a definite green theme to Notre Dame’s overnight flight to Dublin. The Irish players and most of the coaches and football staff wore bright green sweatsuits and hats. Ask for water and it came with a (green) lime and a miniature Ireland flag. The inside of the Delta plane was festooned with green theming. – The Irish flight arrived a half-hour early but had to wait...

Rapid Reaction: Notre Dame 50, Navy 10

Welcome new and old friends to Notre Dame Rapid Reaction - Navy Edition. For the uninitiated - I make a quick post-game summary with the assist of a "glance" over the box score. Players I noticed, changes that surprised us, and anything else noteworthy from the day's stats. I will continue to provide slightly more in-depth reviews & previews of the games after...

Photos: Navy falls in Ireland

Navy quarterback Trey Miller showed promise as a passer, completing 14-of-19 passes for 192 yards, a touchdown and an interception. However, it wasn't enough as Notre Dame rolled to a 50-10 victory in Dublin. Look inside for photos of the game by Matt Cashore.
