Found February 11, 2009 on Dallas Cowboy Blog:

Bob Hayes received his long overdue induction into the Hall of Fame. He wore #22 for the Dallas Cowboys. Emmitt Smitth also wore #22 for the Dallas Cowboys, and he will no doubt be elected in his first year of eligibility. Michael Irvin wore #88, and he was elected. Drew Pearson wore #88 prior to Michael Irvin, and he needs to be in the Hall. Drew was on the receiving end of some of the great moments in Dallas Cowboy's History. He caught the "Hail Mary" pass from Roger Staubach. He also caught the pass from Clint Longley on Thanksgiving Day in 1974 after Roger Staubach had been injured. Pearson's stats are better than Lynn Swann's in most categories. I do not disagree with Lynn Swann's selection. He had great Super Bowl Statistics, and that was the stength of his resume. Drew's Super Bowl Stats were not the best, but they were respectable, and he played in three Super Bowls in his eleven year career. The Cowboys also made the playoffs in ever year that he played, except for 1974. Pearson was a big-play receiver, coming up with numerous big catches over the years. His career was cut short by a car accident. If not for that accident, he probably could have made a stronger case for his induction. But it is strong enough as it is. Let's hope that Drew Pearson does not face the same fate as Bob Hayes, where somebody pushes his case after he is dead.
