New Orleans Bowl: 12/21, 5:15pm PT. Southern Miss vs. Troy
In a battle of two rather unknown teams we should see a good game. The teams match up well with each other on both sides of the ball. I never really got a good chance to watch either of these teams but one advantage that Troy has is their size. In a close, lower scoring contest, I see Troy victorious thanks to their advantage in the trenches.
Poinsettia Bowl: 12/23, 5:00pm PT. Boise State vs. TCU Out of all the non-BCS games this is the one I most look forward to. A battle of two great, highly ranked teams who both could have been contenders if there was a playoff system. The focus of this game will be Boise States' offense against TCU’s Defense. Boise State tends to rely on their passing game and TCU has a great pass rusher in Jerry Hughes. I think that Hughes and the Horned Frogs’ defense will get into the head of Boise States freshman quarterback Kellen Moore. In a close one, I see TCU giving Boise State their first loss of the season. Hawaii Bowl: 12/24, 5:00pm PT. Hawaii vs. Notre Dame A true test for Charlie Weiss to keep his job as head coach of the Irish. This is a battle of two mediocre teams at best. This is a tough one to decide on but I have one word stuck in my mind, Syracuse. Notre Dame has only beat one team with a winning record this season and that will still be the case after they play Hawaii. An underrated Hawaii defense will lead them over Jimmy Clausen and the Irish. Honestly if Notre Dame can’t beat Syracuse at home on Senior Day how can you expect them to win at Hawaii?
