Fox Sports Carolinas:
GREENSBORO, N.C.-- After falling short of its record 15th ACC title last season, the Clemson Tigers were picked by media members to claim the conference crown in 2013. Dabo Swinney & Co. claimed 95 of the 120 possible first-place votes.
Returning one of the most explosive offenses in the country, one that averaged 41 points per game in 2012 (sixth-most in the country), Clemson enters the season projected as one of the select few ACC teams with an outside shot at a national championship.
Behind the combination of senior quarterback Tajh Boyd, the reigning ACC Player of the Year, and explosive junior Sammy Watkins, offensive coordinator Chad Morris' offense is not expected to slow down.
Speaking of Boyd, the media darling of Day One of the ACC Kickoff was (not surprisingly) picked to repeat as the ACC's top player. He earned 105 of 120 possible votes, beating out the likes of Watkins, Miami's Duke Johnson and Virginia Tech's Logan Thomas in a landslide vote.
Clemson edged Florida State in the Atlantic Division by 84 first-place votes.
The Coastal Division projects to be a much closer race: Miami's 65 first-place votes edged both Virginia Tech (27) and North Carolina (26).
According to ACC media members, there's not a single ACC Championship Game matchup that does not include either Clemson or Florida State. In other words, the remaining five teams in the Atlantic Division -- N.C. State, Wake Forest, Maryland, Syracuse and Boston College -- are not perceived to have a single shot at a conference title this season.
It is the first time since 1991 the Tigers have been the preseason pick to win the conference, the fifth time overall since voting began in 1976.

Three members of the Clemson Tigers have been named to the Preseason All-ACC team: QB Tajh Boyd, WR Sammy Watkins and K Chandler Catanzaro. However I believe these three have what it takes to represent Clemson as All Americans as well.
Senior quarterback Tajh Boyd will be running the Tigers’ offense, coming off a spectacular performance in last year’s Chick-Fil-A Bowl in which...

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Following a day in which Tajh Boyd singing the opening bars to an Eric Church song provided one of the few noteworthy moments, the spotlight turns to the ACC coaches for what promises to be a more intriguing day at the ACC Kickoff. Let's face it: Outside of Boyd and a select few other players in attendance, any star power the league possesses resides in its...

With the ACC Kickoff now in the books, Clemson fans now turn their attention to the actual start of the season, which is a little less than six weeks away.
Tigers fans are well aware of the damage that Tajh Boyd and Sammy Watkins can cause to any defense. Both are players who can be respectfully feared in their own right, but they aren’t the only...
One the most entertaining aspects of the ACC Media Days has been the photo booth. First we saw Tajh Boyd wear a ridiculous crown and hold up a Heisman sign. Yesterday, Frank Beamer got in on the action and sported a Viking helmet. And of course, Jimbo Fisher decided to take a clever picture in which he wished his wife a happy anniversary.
Now, Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney is stepping...
The ACC announced on Monday that Clemson was voted as the preseason favorite to win the league in 2013. Tajh Boyd was also named preseason Player of the Year.
The Houston Texans may not have made the most headlines during the 2013 NFL Draft, but they seemed to exceed expectations, address almost all of their needs and get great value throughout the three-day festivities. We knew well in advance which position the Texans were going to go with their first round pick, but we weren’t exactly sure which receiver was going to hear his name...
