A consensus is emerging on Saturday's Georgia-South Carolina affair, and it's both obvious and fairly dire: These teams are not good on offense. That's the Georgia perspective, at least; the Bulldogs are 0-1 and know from respectable offense. Carolina is slightly more optimistic with a 7-3 win under its belt, circumstantial evidence that hey, it's okay to be "conservative" if you can play defense. Having watched the vast majority of both in their openers (a replay of Georgia's loss to Oklahoma State is on right now), I'm taking the Georgia perspective.
But to put the game in perspective, these two teams are always bad on offense when they get together -- Steve Spurrier and Mark Richt may be old offensive coaches, but their schemes haven't amounted to much in this series, unless you're a bigger fan of turnovers than touchdowns:
Neither team has hit 20 points in the last four years, and neither looked capable of coming anywhere near 20 points...
