Brian Rolle LB Ohio State
Ht: 5’10″
Wt: 229
Strengths:
Two-year starter who saw significant playing time on special teams early in his career. Experience at middle and weak-side linebacker in Ohio State classic 4-3 scheme. Impressive athleticism, quickness and speed. Looks very fluid in coverage. Has the skills necessary to be a special teams standout.
Weaknesses:
Vastly undersized. Lack of height is a definite concern. 3-4 teams will have no use for him and even in a 4-3 scheme he may be limited to the weak-side position.
Comments:
Rolle’s lack of size limits the number of teams that will be interested, which should cause him to fall in the third day of the draft. However, if he lands in the right scheme he could potentially develop into a starter. At worse, he will be a stud on special teams, making him well worth a 5th or 6th round selection.
