The Broncos rookie class completed its first mini-camp last weekend. It appears there’s lots of room for improvement and competition. The Broncos have 88 men on their roster and must cut it down to 53 by the start of the season. As for the rookies’ first taste of the NFL, cornerback Alphonso Smith said,
“It’s not the speed. It’s that everyone is professional. Everyone is a master of their craft. That’s where rookies are lacking. You need to be more precise.” (Denver Post).
Rookie QB Tom Brandstater said,
“Today, it was definitely a crash course, probably just a tiny, tiny sliver of what we’re going to do. Last night and this morning were some long hours for me trying to understand everything.” (Denver Post).
