Butch Davis has managed to find himself back in the NFL. Now he didn’t land a coaching job, but he has managed to land a “special assistant” job. Davis hasn’t been in the NFL since 2004, when he coached the Cleveland Browns. Davis lead the Browns to just one winning season (9-7), and he had an over all record of 24-34. Now he is back and working with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Buccaneers have hired the former North Carolina coach as their “special assistant” to new coach Greg Schiano. The Buccaneers said that Davis would “advise Schiano in a wide range of football aspects.” Schiano went on to call Butch Davis a friend and mentor.
