California center Chris Adcock is out for the remainder of the season with a knee injury and safety Alex Logan has retired from football for medical reasons.
Coach Sonny Dykes announced the news on Saturday before the Golden Bears (1-3, 0-1 Pac-12) hosted Washington State.
Adcock injured his knee in practice on Wednesday. He started the first four games at center and is expected to be replaced by Mark Brazinski.
Logan started two of the first four games, recording 11 tackles and intercepting a pass. He has dealt with a variety of injuries in his career leading to his decision. Logan is on track to graduate in December.
Cal kicked defensive end Chris McCain off the team earlier this week for conduct detrimental to the team.

THESE ARE THE games that bowl-caliber teams win. It was not always aesthetically pleasing to watch Washington State’s 44-22 win Saturday at California as Golden Bears wide receiver Chris Harper consistently beat Cougar defenders on deep balls during the first half. But WSU always seemed to respond to adversity en route to improving to 2-0 in conference road games.
IT WAS AN aerial attack Saturday in Berkeley and WSU quarterback Connor Halliday was the lead pilot. The redshirt junior signal caller had a historic day, throwing for 521 yards in the Cougs' dominating 44-22 victory over the California Golden Bears and the scribes certainly gave credit where it was due following the game.
Pac 12 Matchup
Two pass-happy coaches who worked together for seven seasons at Texas Tech match wits Saturday when Washington State visits California. Golden Bears coach Sonny Dykes served as offensive coordinator under Cougars coach Mike Leach with the Red Raiders.
