Found August 22, 2008 on Cowboys Gab:
Wednesday's practice was free to the public in honor of this last season the team will play at Texas Stadium in Irving, TX.  By all accounts, it was a huge success for both the team and fans alike.  Coach Wade Phillips said the team had its best practice so far and several vintage players from the Cowboys' storied past were in attendance giving autographs to hordes of appreciative fans.  Other than the current roster of high-profile stars giving out their signatures, Randy White, Walt Garrison, Bob Lilly and Tony Dorsett were on hand to the delight of some 25,000 fans who showed up for the event.  If I had known these Hall of Famers would be there, I would definitely have tried harder to attend myself!  It was just one way Jerry Jones began the process of moving the team from it's home over the past 37 years into the new stadium under construction in Arlington, TX.  The Cowboys practiced daily at training camp in Oxnard, CA to large crowds of fans, but this home-field showing certainly reminded the players of who their true fans really are and what they'd like to see from their Boys this season.  "To see that many people show up, it helped our practice," Phillips stated. "Even though it was loud, they concentrated well. We looked pretty sharp out there."   Let's hope this momentum will carry-over into tonight's preseason home game against the Texans, when most accounts have the first-team offense and defense going further into the game, possibly into the third quarter, than in the previous two outings.
