Nothing like waking up on Monday morning only to see IU’s Ben Chappell getting some love from the media. Today it was announced that Chappell was named the offensive player of the week in the Big Ten after completing 32 of 42 passes for 366 yards and 3 touchdowns. This was the fourth time in his career that he has thrown for over 300 yards in a game.
Indiana in general has not gotten a lot of love in the Big Ten power rankings so it is good to see Chappell getting some recognition for his quality play. Until the Hoosiers play well against better competition, don’t expect to see them get a whole lot of love. A win this weekend against Akron and a good showing against Michigan will give people a better sense of how the Hoosiers stack up against the other teams in the Big Ten. Watch out for the matchup against the Wolverines, a victory against them will turn a lot more heads and allow the Hoosiers to getting some more attention.
