The news sort of came out of nowhere on Wednesday morning when it was announced that the annual gridiron battle between the University of Louisville and the University of Kentucky would be moved to the final game of the season starting in 2014. The SEC and The ACC supposedly played a role in this schedule change. Charlie Strong shared his thoughts following Thursday’s practice. “It’s a great rivalry game, so it doesn’t really matter when we play them,” Strong says. “When you look at the recruiting they’re doing and the recruiting we’ve been doing, we’re hoping this could become a very significant game.” Now that 48-hours have passed since this became public, it appears that both sides of the rivalry seem to be on board with this move. Louisville has been rumored to be the favorite for...

Cardinals receiver aims to follow up 2012 breakout

Louisville receiver Damian Copeland had reason to smile after practicing for the first time in two weeks. The senior was held out of fall camp workouts as a precaution because of a sore left knee. But during that time, he remained active and spent a lot of time making mental notes about the ninth-ranked Cardinals' offense and marveling at the talent of the Cardinals' receiver...

Jermaine Reve Proving His Worth At Cornerback

The one missing piece from Vance Bedford’s defense in 2012 is former cornerback Adrian Bushell. While Terell Floyd returns with a season of experience under his belt, Coach Bedford had an opening at the opposite cornerback position in 2013. Nearly three weeks into the fall camp, redshirt sophomore Jermaine Reve appears to have won the job. “At this time he’s our guy. He’s...

Preston Brown Has Solidified Himself As The Leader Of The Defense

When speaking to the media at the annual Governor’s Cup Luncheon last month, Louisville head coach Charlie Strong made it pretty clear that senior linebacker Preston Brown would be the leader of the Cardinal defense in 2013. Vance Bedford said the same thing a couple weeks later at media day. After seventeen straight days of fall camp practices, nothing has changed. “Preston...

The Bullet Is Still Ripped

Former Louisville point guard Elisha Justice was a fan favorite during his two years with the Cardinal program. The Eastern Kentucky native was a hard working walk-on who contributed more than most expected. Between his freshman and sophomore seasons, “Bullet” became an internet sensation when he was voted as the 2011 Hottest Male Athlete by a website that no longer exists. Bullet...
