Prior to his current position as University of Louisville head coach Charlie Strong spent 2005-09 at the University of Florida as defensive coordinator under head coach Urban Meyer.  After taking a break and spending a short time away from the fraternity of college football head coaching Meyer has resurfaced as head coach at Ohio State University.  Due to proximity alone and not to mention the pipeline Louisville football has established in the Cincinnati area the two former associates were destined to meet on the recruiting trail. The University of Louisville and Ohio State have both recently received a visit from 2014 Quarterback Drew Barker of Conner High School in Burlington KY (just across the Ohio river from Cincinnati).  Barker visited Louisville on April 13 and Ohio State April 18th and then again for the Buckeye’s Spring Game on April 21st.
