In the "least shocking rumor ever" department comes reports that Wisconsin could be interested in interviewing Boise State head football coach Chris Petersen to fill its HC job vacancy left by Bret Bielema's defection to Arkansas.
“Another source close to the UW Athletic Department said (athletic
director Barry) Alvarez has been in contact with Boise State coach Chris
Petersen and an interview could happen as early as Monday,” the
(Madison) Wisconsin State-Journal reported."
This was, of course, quickly shot down by alleged sources close to Petersen and the Broncos.
“Just spoke to source who just spoke to Chris Petersen,” The Sporting
News’ Matt Hayes tweeted. “He’s not interviewing at Wisconsin.”
Hayes followed that up with a declarative, “One more thing: Petersen isn’t interviewing anywhere. Period.”
Well that settles that. If Chris Petersen had a dollar for every HC job he was connected to, he could buy Idaho and paint the whole state blue. The story...
