The Sports Jags:
Apparently Mario Cristobal’s wife was a little too hot for Pitt to handle. It seems like Paul Chryst and Cristobal were pretty much dead even in the eyes of Pitt administrators; the difference between the two coming from Cristobal and his wife’s strong ties to the state of Florida. Pitt already had been burned by a coach with strong ties to everywhere and anywhere, they didn’t want to have Cristobal jump ship as soon as one of the big Florida schools calls.
Paul Chryst seems like a pretty solid choice to bring in. He comes from a solid program at Wisconsin and most likely isn’t going come in trumpeting catch phrases to pump up his status. Chryst brings a lot of experience 23 years total, with numerous stops at the professional and collegiate level. Offense is his specialty, he has a history of producing dominant offensive teams and players, including Derek Anderson, Steven Jackson, Russell Wilson, and Montee Ball.
At Pitt he won’t find a Russell Wilson, but he may find the next Montee Ball. Ray Graham was dominant early this season and is probably a more all around back than Ball, possessing game breaking speed to go with the power to score in the red zone. Under Chryst, Graham should be able to carry the offense regardless of who is at quarterback.

It's time for college football's version of the postseason: bowl season.
While several bowls have already been played (a belated congratulations goes out to Temple, Ohio, Louisiana-Lafayette, Marshall and TCU), there is still plenty of action left, as 30 bowls have yet to be played.

Okay, in case there was any question that there might be a last minute change. Pitt has put out the press release announcing Chryst has been hired.

Some people hate it but it can’t be stopped and it only grows bigger and bigger. I’m talking about college football bowl season, get your minds out of the gutter! My favorite teams Notre Dame and Nebraska will both be in Orlando, Florida for their bowl games. Then there is the BCS, which kicks off on January 2nd with the Rose Bowl and the Fiesta Bowl. I have predictions and previews...
