Cincinnati (9-3) vs Vanderbilt (6-6)
Cincinnati was on the verge of winning the Big East out-right, but suffering a loss to West Virginia kept them out of a BCS game. That would have been their third trip to a BCS game in 3 years, Orange 09, Sugar 10, both of which they lost. The Butch Jones and the Bearcats will be looking to get a W against a Vandy team with a first year head coach James Franklin.
Cincinnati QB Zach Collaros is in his senior year, and unfortunately, he suffered an injury that cost him his starting job for the last 4 games of the season, but all reports are that Collaros will start for the Bearcats.
James Franklin and Vanderbilt have been sort of an anomaly. Franklin has lost 6 games this year, but 4 of those games were by 6 points or less. His team was in all of those games until the very end. In the grand scheme of things, Cincinnati's match-up with the Vanderbilt Commodores in the 2011 Liberty Bowl didn't mean a whole lot.
