Nearly 50,000 fans at Paul Brown Stadium were chanting ''Munchie! Munchie!'' as Cincinnati's new quarterback rallied the Bearcats to a late lead.
It wasn't the first time that Munchie Legaux (luh-GO') was noticed for his name.
The prep star from New Orleans takes over at quarterback for the Big East leaders now that senior Zach Collaros is out with a broken right ankle, suffered during a loss Saturday to West Virginia. Legaux filled in and led Cincinnati's second-half comeback, but the Bearcats had a tying field goal blocked in the closing seconds.
Legaux is a sophomore who originally committed to Colorado. He changed his mind and went to Cincinnati expecting to be the starter in another year or so. Instead, he'll make his first collegiate start Saturday at Rutgers.
