Sports Talk Buzz:
This Saturday the No.9 Iowa Hawkeyes are set to take on the No.18 Arizona Wildcats at Arizona Stadium. The Hawkeyes squared off against in-state rival Iowa State last week, and the Hawks beat up on the Cyclones 35-7 to move to 2-0 on the season. The Wildcats have also been impressive to start the season, as they too are 2-0 after a lopsided victory over Citadel. If you are interested in doing some college football betting on the game this weekend, the oddsmakers currently have the Hawkeyes listed as 2-point favorites over the Wildcats on the road.

The Hawkeyes used a heavy ran all over the Cyclones last Saturday, as starting running back Adam Robinson went for 156 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries, and now has 265 yards rushing and four touchdowns in the Hawkeyes first two games. After missing the first game, sophomore Jewel Hampton ran the ball 20 times for 84 yards and a touchdown.
Quarterback Ricky Stanzi was also impressive in the Hawks win, as he completed 11 of 18 passes for 204 yards and two touchdowns. Marvin McNutt, Adam Reisner, and Derrell Johnson-Koulianos each had at least 65 yards receiving, with McNutt and Reisner each grabbing a touchdown toss.
The Hawkeyes defense was also impressive, as they kept their opponent to just seven points for the second straight game, and were once again a force against the run, as the Cyclones had just 78 yards on the ground. The secondary was also strong, as they intercepted three Iowa State passes in the win.
The Wildcats have also started the season very strong on the offensive side of the ball, as they put up 52 points against Citadel after scoring 41 in the season opener. Running back Nic Grigsby ran for 107 yards and three touchdowns against Citadel last week, while quarterback Nick Foles completed 17 of 22 passes for 217 yards and a touchdown.
Arizona has allowed just eight points in their first two games of the season, but that was against two mediocre teams. It will be interesting to see what the Wildcats can do against a very talented Iowa team this weekend.
Looking at the Odds: As good as Arizona has looked in the first two games of the season, I think you have to go with the Hawkeyes to not only win this game, but to cover the 2-point spread. I believe the Hawkeyes defense will really slow down the Arizona offensive attack, and I don’t think Arizona is going to have any luck stopping the Hawkeyes rushing attack of Robinson and Hampton.
Hawkeyes are 12-3 ATS vs. a team with a winning record, and are 10-1 ATS in their last 11 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. My final score prediction is Iowa, 24, Arizona 17.
