#1 Alabama defeats #18 Penn State – The Nittany Lions’ youth showed, and RB Trent Richardson had a big day starting in place of Mark Ingram. Richardson accounted for 190 total yards and a touchdown. An interesting stat is that No. 1 teams in the nation are now 27-0 in home games against other ranked teams since 1995.

#2 Ohio State defeats #12 Miami (FL) 36-24 – It wasn’t as close as the score would indicate. Terrelle Pryor had a big day, throwing for 233 yards and rushing for 113 more. He also scored twice on the ground.

#4 TCU defeats Tennessee Tech 62-7 – This one was over when Tennessee Tech showed up in Fort Worth. The Horned Frogs rushed for 270 yards and 7 touchdowns as a team.

#5 Texas defeats Wyoming 34-7 – It was an ugly start for the Longhorns, but they put together 17 points in the second quarter to put them ahead 20-7. Freshman WR Mike Davis was the star of the game, catching 7 balls for 104 yards and a touchdown.

#6 Nebraska defeats Idaho 38-17 – It was all Huskers early, and they pounded the Vandals on the ground for 360 yards. QB Taylor Martinez scored two touchdowns in the win. It was the tenth straight game in which Nebraska held their foes to less than 20 points.

#7 Oregon defeats Tennessee 48-13 – LaMichael James rushed for 74 yards and a touchdown to help lead the Ducks to an impressive victory. But Kenjon Barner was the story, burning the Vols defense for 228 total yards and a score.

#8 Florida defeats South Florida 38-14 – The Gator defense was the story, forcing five turnovers in the win. It was close early, but Jeff Demps scored on a 62-yard run to give his team a 14-7 lead and they never looked back.

#9 Iowa defeats Iowa State 35-7 – Iowa scored touchdowns on four of their first five possessions, and got three touchdowns from QB Ricky Stanzi. The loss dropped the Cyclones to 0-16 in their last 16 games vs. ranked foes.

#10 Oklahoma defeats #17 Florida State – After a shaky showing against Utah State, the Sooners came back with a dominant performance Saturday. Landry Jones threw for 380 yards and 4 touchdowns in the win.

#11 Wisconsin defeats San Jose State 27-14 – The Spartans hung around, but John Clay was too much for their defense to handle. Clay rushed for 137 yards and two touchdowns to help the Badgers improve to 13-0 against non-conference foes under current head coach Bret Bielema.

James Madison defeats #13 Virginia Tech 21-16 – The Hokies had a colossal letdown after a tough loss to Boise State last week, and they just didn’t come to play. Drew Duzik rushed for two touchdowns and threw for another in the win, and JMU came up with a big fumble recovery late to seal the victory.

#14 Arkansas defeats Louisiana-Monroe 31-7 – Ryan Mallett threw for 400 yards and 4 touchdowns in the win, improving the Hogs to 27-0 against Sun Belt Conference foes all-time.
