The injury-riddled Colorado Buffaloes have lost leading tackler Douglas Rippy to a season-ending knee injury and his cousin, top tailback Rodney Stewart, for up to a month.
Rippy, a junior linebacker, will undergo surgery soon. Coach Jon Embree said Monday night that Stewart will miss two to four weeks with a severely sprained knee. Both were hurt during Saturday's loss at Washington.
Stewart's injury will prevent him from surpassing the school record for rushing yards (3,940) held by his position coach, Eric Bieniemy.
The Buffs also will be without senior receiver Kyle Cefalo (knee) Saturday against Oregon. Top receiver Paul Richardson (knee) and senior cornerbacks Brian Lockridge (ankle) and Travis Sandersfeld (leg) all remain out after getting hurt earlier this season.
