Contra Costa Times: Cal, Stanford players earn All-Pac-10 football honors

Cal defensive lineman Tyson Alualu, punter Bryan Anger, linebacker Mike Mohamed, offensive lineman Mike Tepper and defensive back Syd'Quan Thompson were named to the All-Pac-10 first team Monday. Stanford running back Toby Gerhart — the Pac-10 offensive player of the year — offensive lineman Chris Marinelli, and kickoff return specialist Chris Owusu also were chosen.   Golden Bears running back Jahvid Best, considered one of the nation's top Heisman Trophy candidates when the season began, was selected to the second team. Best hasn't played since he sustained a concussion and back injury in a scary fall while leaping for a touchdown in Cal's loss to Oregon State on Nov. 7.
