Way back when the bowl games were announced, this was my second most intriguing game. What's not to like? You have the Heisman Trophy winner and his school, which left the Big 12 for the SEC this season, going up against a former Big 12 foe in Oklahoma. Did I mention that this is a game between two teams who both have a 10-2 record and are ranked ninth and eleventh?
Both of these teams average over 40 points per game and allow less than 25. Both teams come into this game having won five straight games. During that stretch, the Aggies beat Alabama while the Sooners made their way through five bowl teams.
In this series, the Sooners have won 19 of 30 and have won 8 of the last 9 and 11 of 13. The Sooners are in firm control of this series but this will be their first time facing Kevin Sumlin. Sumlin had a fantastic year...

ARLINGTON, Texas Landry Jones' college career has come full circle.
The Oklahoma quarterback began his playing career at Cowboys Stadium, and that's where it will end Friday in the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic.
In between, he also quarterbacked the Sooners to a Big 12 championship game win over Nebraska.
"It did start here," Jones said during a Cotton Bowl media...
The Oklahoma Sooners weren’t the only ones who fell on their ass at the 2013 Cotton Bowl. Early in the 4th quarter, this referee tripped over his own feet and went tumbling backwards hitting the ground hard and losing his hat and score sheet in the process.
We zoomed in on this play and its clear that the ref did not trip on a Sooner defensive player but his own feet.
For those of you who didn't tune into the 2013 Cotton Bowl between the Oklahoma Sooners and the Texas A&M Aggies, then you might have missed this epic referee fall.
Watch as the umpire attempts to back away from the Oklahoma Sooners defense and ends up tripping on the turf at Cowboys Stadium:

In 2013, Texas A&M made a major change to the college football landscape. The Aggies, along with Missouri, left the Big 12 and headed for the SEC. While Mizzou struggled mightily, Texas A&M played exceptionally well. The Aggies lost just two games, both close contests to top 10 teams (Florida & LSU). Now, the Aggies face an old Big 12 rival, the Oklahoma Sooners. OU...
The Texas A&M Aggies play against the Oklahoma Sooners in the AT&T Cotton Bowl on Friday night. FOX will carry the game which has a kickoff slated for 8:00 pm EST.
Cowboys Stadium will play host to one of the most anticipated match-ups of bowl season as No. 9 Texas A&M (10-2) plays against No. 11 Oklahoma (10-2) in a game of two former Big XII rivals.
What is the point...
This will be a huge game tonight for Landry Jones, one of the most under rated quarterbacks in college football. There have been some draftniks that have Landry being taken no later than the 2nd round, and some that say Jones will not be drafted until the 5th round.
Tonight will be a huge game for Jones, as it is his last. He and the Sooners have always been known to choke in the...
ARLINGTON, Texas — The Sooners and Texas A&M Aggies are battling it out at Jerry World in the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic.
Johnny Manziel passed for 287 yards and 2 TDs and rushed for 229 yards and 2 TDs while the Aggie defense pitched a second half shutout as Texas A&M crushed the Oklahoma Sooners 41-13 in the 2013 Cottom Bowl on Friday night.
ARLINGTON, Texas A change of scenery has done the Aggies well. Sixteen seasons in the Big 12 Conference produced just one with 10 or more wins, the Aggies' 1998 conference championship season with 11. Just once in the past five years did the Aggies win more than seven games.
A few notable and publicized alterations and boom 11 wins and a thrashing of Oklahoma in the 77th AT...
The Texas A&M Aggies’ meteoric rise grew into one of the 2012 college football’s biggest stories for a number of reasons, not the least of which being the skepticism about their ability to compete in the SEC. Forget pundits – I suspect that if you asked A&M fans before the season, a vast majority would have considered seven wins or so a successful year.
Win 10 games...
