The University Of Central Florida has turned many heads in both football and basketball this year. First, the football team upset Georgia in the Liberty Bowl and the basketball team is off to its best start in years. Many people have taken notice, including the Big East Conference who is still looking to add teams to their conference. But there’s is one problem; the University of South Florida may be blocking the Golden Knights’ invitation to the conference. Even UCF Spokesman Grant Heston has heard that just may be the case.
"We have been hearing this, too," UCF spokesperson Grant Heston said in an e-mailed response to the Sentinel about USF obstructing UCF's potential path into the Big East. "We hope it's not true, because our joining the Big East would clearly be a win-win for both universities.”
