One week in the books, thirteen to go in the Pac-12. That could be bad news for the conference, as the first-ever week in Pac-12 play didn’t go too well. Oregon State lost at home to Sacramento State, a run-of-the-mill FCS team. Ouch. Oregon fell flat on their faces on the weekend’s most prominent stage in a 13-point loss to LSU. UCLA went on the road and lost to an average team from Conference USA. USC and Washington squeaked out wins over seemingly inferior opponents. And the more impressive performances belonged to Arizona State and Arizona, and those are hard to gauge because they came against overmatched FCS teams. You get the idea. It was a bad week. It wasn’t exactly a good week for the normally trusty Crystal Ball either–10-2 straight up and a woeful 2-4 against the spread (is it any wonder I’m not a big gambler?)
