Cubs Option Four...Re-Assign Five Players in Latest Round of Roster Moves

The Cubs trimmed their Spring Roster on Tuesday from 54 players to 45 players according to a report from Cubs.com. The Cubs optioned Mitch Atkins, Justin Berg and Jeff Stevens to Triple-A Iowa and optioned Marcos Mateo to Double-A Tennessee. The Cubs also assigned five non-roster invitees to minor league camp...Welington Castillo, Darwin Barney, Luis Rivas, Doug Deeds and Jason Dubois.
