He didn’t really give a halftime speech or anything like that. The third teams were having at each other at the time so Dan Mullen was paying at least some attention there. What the Mississippi State coach really did was stick to the pre-scrimmage plan, and that turned the offense loose in the second ‘half’ of Saturday’s game-type practice at Scott Field.

Mississippi State first sent one recruit a can of swag and has now sent another, Drew Baker, 102 letters.
“It feels more like bowl prep than spring ball,” Dan Mullen commented. The coach certainly had a point, with the (alleged) 50 degrees and light drizzle his Bulldogs had just finished practicing in. Not that anyone complained. “It was kind of fun,” said Benardrick McKinney. “We stayed juiced-up out there.”
