Deon Butler doesn't cut an initimidating profile. At least not in comparison to linebacker Aaron Curry. The two have become pretty good friends since being drafted by the Seahawks, they spend a good chunk of time together and given the fact that Curry's got about 80 pounds and at least 4 inches on Butler, people assume that Butler is his friend from back home. A member of his entourage.
But Butler's got some bona fide credentials of his own. That was the premise of the story for today's story in The Seattle Times.
The story focused on Butler's on-field talents, but he was a law and justice major at Penn State and has an interest in forensic science. In fact, he took an internship the summer before his final season at Penn State with the homicide unit of Philadelphia's police department.
"It was the real deal," he said.
