The Duck Stops Here:
With fall camp completed and the Scout team chosen, Oregon begins preparation tomorrow for the first game of the season, Nicholls State at 1:00 p.m. in Autzen Stadium. The game will be carried nationally on Fox Sports 1.
The Ducks had a great fall camp. They avoided major injury, worked at a brisk pace, sorted out position battles, and reestablished the tempo and temperment that have made them one of college football's best teams for the last five seasons.
Oregon's won 12 games in each of the last three seasons, won two BCS bowls, and been to a national title game. The only goal left is to win one.
On the headset, in the booth: Scott Frost will do a capable job calling plays, particularly because he understands it matters way more who is running them. His personal journey, quarterbacking a national championship team, competiting in a Heisman race, crafting a career in the NFL, learning his trade from Kelly, Parcells, Osborne and Walsh, makes him a perfect mentor for Marcu...

Mark Helfrich met the media after today's practice, and offered some details on the 2013 depth chart as preparations began for the first game next Saturday at Autzen Stadium versus Nicholls (two Ls, no "State," officially).
The full depth chart comes out on Monday but Andy McNamara of goducks.com had some juicy details in his practice report.
People worry about the undersized linebackers and the loss of Alonso and Clay. Where are all the tackles going to come from, with Boyett, Jordan, and the inside linebackers graduated?
One thing to remember is that the Oregon secondary forces and closes against the run extremely well. They're all hitters, playing with a lot of physicality. Terrance Mitchell is 6-0, 189. Ifo Ekpre...
Andre Yruretagoyena and Tyler Johnstone, rapidly becoming the most famous comedy team since Cheech and Chong or Martin and Lewis, take fans on a "day in the life" tour of two-a-days, which takes us through their daily routine, the locker room, and what they do between practices to rest, rehab and recreate.

Steve Greatwood's not looking for lumbering oxes, fat guys who can fall on people.
When your offensive backfield features blur-fast scooters who run the 40 in four-flat and a burp, it wouldn't do to have slow, clumsy linemen who can't pull or take on a safety 10 yards downfield.
All De'Anthony Thomas, Thomas Tyner or Byron Marshall need is a swath of daylight, and...

It is no coincidence that Uranium Ore is green.
Like the raw talent of an athlete, Uranium is unstable in its natural state. Dense. Malleable. Full of potential, but slowly decaying over time until it becomes inert.
Refine it, however, and its potential increases. Bombard refined Uranium with neutrons, you get enough heat...
Former member of the D-Boyz Walter Thurmond made 5 solo tackles and recovered a second-quarter fumble in Seattle's 17-10 road victory over Green Bay. Thurmond's sharp defensive effort helped the Seahawks overcome two interceptions by ex-Wisconsin Badger Russell Wilson.
Thurmond was taken by the Pete Carroll and the Hawks in the 4th round of the 2010 draft. He played 14 games...
A new era has begun in Philadelphia. New head coach, new coordinators, new players, and a new hope. Head coach Chip Kelly brings an innovative mind and a high paced philosophy from the University of Oregon that he has implemented with the Eagles. Along with himself, Chip brought a host of new faces into Philadelphia, be it new coordinators and coaches, or free agents and draft picks...
Ever since Chip Kelly was introduced as the new head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, there has been the burning question about who the starter at quarterback would be. Would it be the veteran Michael Vick, or the younger Nick Foles? We also heard the name of fourth-round pick Matt Barkley, but he really wasn't in the running for starter. Simply put, it was either going to be...
Mark Helfrich says the wrap-up scrimmage of fall camp will feature the young players. Marcus Mariota and De'Anthony Thomas have as much chance of seeing live contact today as I do of getting a date with Jennifer Aniston.
The offense is fully installed by now, and the depth chart, while as unpublished as Ms. Aniston's phone number, is very nearly set. A few players will have...
