Johnny Manziel may only be entering his sophomore season, but he is already a Texas A&M legend. Last season, Manziel became the first freshman to ever win the Heisman Trophy. In the process, he also made the Aggies an instant contender in their first season in the SEC, which is widely considered to be the best conference in college football. Texas A&M is not to be confused with Texas, unless you want one of their hardcore fans to pop you in the nose. There’s also no mistaking the Texas Longhorns symbol, which is exactly what Johnny Manziel is rocking on his torso in the photo you see above that a Busted Coverage reader sent in. It’s fair to speculate that the tattoo is either photoshopped or a fake tattoo that Manziel got as a joke, but after reading his bio from the Texas A&M athletic website it actually makes sense. Buried in the middle somewhere is this fun little tidbit: Manziel, whom A&M coach Kevin Sumlin hasn’t yet made available for interviews this season, grew up a Texas Longhorns fan (he often sported UT gear around Tyler), but Texas didn’t heavily recruit him. In fact Florida coach Will Muschamp told his players during halftime of this year’s A&M game that UT, where Muschamp had previously served as defensive coordinator, only wanted Manziel as a defensive back. That’s probably enough to make the fans in College Station want to puke, but that’s life. It’s not the first time we have seen a college athlete with a regrettable tattoo from a rival team. Most little kids who dream of playing Division-1 football don’t get an opportunity to do it at all, let alone play for their favorite team. Having said that, when did he get this tattoo? Age 16? Just remember, it could be worse. Some fans like to show their dedication with insane tattoos like this and this. At least Johnny’s horns are subtle.
