PLAYERS: Jeff Driskel
A year ago, Jeff Driskel rocked his Gators jersey as the new kid, the freshman — the guy with something to prove. The quarterback, straight out of Oviedo’s Paul J. Hagerty High, even enrolled in January of last year to make his impact early. By the time the 2011 season started rolling, Driskel started grinding. But Florida’s future 2012 starting quarterback wasn’t always ahead.

Florida has decided on Jeff Driskel as their starting quarterback

via @tarinmoses Finally, Will Muschamp has made a decision on who will be the Gator’s number one quarterback. Muschamp had not announced a starter and gave both quarterbacks the opportunity to play last week against Bowling Green. As a matter of fact, the first play of the game Muschamp sent both onto the field. Muschamp says “it will be Jeff’s game to play. I told him I don’t...

The Florida Gators Have Found Their Quarterback; What Happens Next?

The Florida Gators had a number of questions entering the 2012 college football season. Among those was the one everyone wanted answered the most: who will be the starting quarterback? Jacoby Brissett? Or Jeff Driskel? Through the Spring and then the Fall, the question wasn’t answered. Head coach Will Muschamp and offensive coordinator Brent Pease never waivered in their resolve...

Florida, A&M learn about Gators in week 1

Florida coach Will Muschamp had the benefit of watching his two quarterbacks play in a game this season before announcing the starter. New Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin opens 2012 with a redshirt freshman under center and plenty of questions about how his team will respond to having its season opener postponed. Sophomore Jeff Driskel will start for the 24th-ranked Gators on...

Covering Dixie Like Mildew: Joker Phillips on Hot Seat, Todd Gurley, Jeff Driskel, and more.

Least shocking suggestion of the day. Kentucky should go fire head football coach Joker Phillips, and replace him with Bobby Petrino. Because Jacob Schoor said so. (Southern Pigskin) Just win, baby.  Auburn's road game at Mississippi State is "A must win game." Because Track 'Em Tigers said so.  The Hurdy Gurley Man.  Georgia tailback Todd Gurley...

Brent Pease was up in the box dropping "F bombs" during the Bowling Green game

This was Brent Pease's first game as the offensive coordinator at the University of Florida. He was up in the box overlooking the field and was visibly upset at the Florida Gator offense (with good reason). Florida continually switched quarterbacks Jeff Driskel and Jacoby Brissett. Pease actually had his mother disapprove of his language after she saw this clip during the game...
