EMU October Opener against Akron

YPSILANTI, Mich. —-The first Saturday of the month of October in the state of Michigan means a lot of wind blowing across Rynearson Stadium and even more changes across the Huron River valley with the feel of autumn in the air and of course the color and pageantry of watching NCAA college football. Eastern Michigan University opened the 2011 Mid-American Conference season Saturday afternoon against the University of Akron. The Eagles are 13-23 when beginning the conference portion of the schedule. Like the breeze that continued to sweep across landscape the Eagles defeated the University of Akron, 31-23 in front of 3,375 hearty Eastern Michigan University football fans.
