During Wednesday's national signing day, a day where high school seniors sign National Letters of Intent to to declare their college of choice, he committed another one. However, this one may have gone unnoticed had ESPN's Shelley Smith kept her mouth shut.
According to Dr. Saturday, around 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Smith addressed a text message she had received from Kiffin while on the air.
"I got a text from Lane Kiffin at 5:15 this morning telling me to wake up, it was a big day and then I got a second text saying, 'We need to get Nelson,'" Smith said live on ESPNU.
