22 year old former Cornhusker Alfonso Dennard was arrested last night on suspicion of assaulting a Lincoln, Nebraska police officer.
According to the Omaha World Herald:
Lincoln police said Dennard, 22, was fighting with another man outside a bar near 14th and O Streets about 2:15 a.m.
When officers attempted to intervene, police said, Dennard allegedly pushed and then punched one officer in the face.
It took four police offices to take Dennard into custody, according to police.
The injured officer is a four-year Police Department veteran. He suffered a minor injury to the left side of his face, but did not seek medical treatment, police said.
It goes without saying…this is a bad look for Alfonso just days before the NFL draft. The ex Nebraska cornerback is projected as a 2nd or 3rd round pick. Some NFL analysts predict this event could cost him up to a round in the draft.
While at Nebraksa, Dennard had no character issues of record besides his ejection from the 2012...

Nebraska's outgoing star cornerback Alfonzo Dennard has been arrested following a disturbance early Saturday outside a Lincoln bar.
Lincoln Police Capt. Jason Stille said Dennard, 22, originally from Rochelle, Ga., was arrested on suspicion of assault of a police officer, third-degree assault and resisting arrest. He was held Saturday in the Lancaster County jail.
When you’re less than a week a week away from being drafted by an NFL team, getting arrested for assault is something you don’t want to do.
