USC head coach Lane Kiffin has always recruited the state of Florida hard, going back to his days at Tennessee. He and the Trojans were back in the state this year and they went after some of the state's best.
According to Damond Talbot of NFL Draft Zone, even though it seems like Matt Barkley’s stock has dramatically dropped since last season. Matt Barkley was part of a disappointing USC Trojans team this year but the quarterback does not believe that should reflect negatively on his NFL future.
Barkley suffered a shoulder injury in a loss to UCLA that caused him to miss games against Notre Dame and Georgia Tech. Barkley was not exactly the picture of quarterback efficiency this season throwing 15 interceptions.
