While Newhouse is one of the great broadcasting schools in the country, the newest name connected to Syracuse is John Miller, not longtime ESPN play-by-play announcer Jon Miller. The 6’3” 317 lb. lineman out of LA Harbor Community College made his official visit to the Hill earlier this month. This has added to an already big month for Doug Marrone.
Listen to a FizzCast exclusive with John Miller:
Brett Peabody, head coach at LA Harbor, talked with The Fizz last week and told us Miller’s stock would be rising in the coming weeks. Syracuse found a way to nab the all-conference stud. Peabody tells The Fizz about SU’s interest in Miller:
“Syracuse is really excited about him. Coach Adkins really likes his versatility, the fact he can play both center and guard. John’s also one of the biggest centers out there and one of the most physical ones.”

“Rene, 21, was booked and lodged for disorderly conduct and resisting...
Doug Marrone has been grabbing JuCo prospects like he’s holiday shopping. Syracuse has brought in over a number of junior college athletes over the last few weeks. Two-star MLB Luke Arciniega committed yesterday after a terrific visit on the Hill last weekend, making it five pledges in the last ten days for the Orange. The last commitment before this recent fantastic group was Augustus...
The Syracuse Orange roll into the New Era Pinstripe Bowl coming off a 7-5 record and a 3 game winning streak after finishing 5-2 in the Big East Conference. Syracuse head football coach Doug Marrone has done a nice job since taking over the program back in 2009. Although they didn’t win the Big East [...]
The Syracuse defense is picking up veteran talent, and the Class of ’13 is starting to take shape 6 weeks before National Signing Day. The Orange grab a verbal commitment from another JuCo player on D, this time 2-star linebacker Luke Arciniega. The 6’4″, 245 lb. ‘backer comes from Sierra Community College in California.
He follows two other defensive JuCo commits for SU...
