Florida quarterback Jeff Driskel underwent an emergency appendectomy on Tuesday we learned in a statement by Head Coach Will Muschamp: “Jeff had acute appendicitis and fortunately the medical staff caught it very quickly,” said Muschamp in the release. “His surgery went well and how long he is out will be determined by how his body responds, which could be two weeks.” Any prolonged time missed by Driskel will be a major problem for the Gators since the QB that Driskel beat out last year has left the program. Will Muschamp said that Junior Tyler Murphy who has never appeared in a game will start camp as the starter. Gator fans everywhere are hoping for a speedy recovery with no further injury.

Florida ranked No. 10 in preseason poll

Injury report headlines UF media day
