Brandon Jenkins, a two-time All-ACC selection, will miss the rest of the season due to a foot injury he suffered in the Seminole’s season opener against Murray State.
Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher said that x-rays on the 6-3, 260-pond defensive ends foot were negative after the game, but that an MRI he received on Monday must have changed that out-come. Jenkins is eligible for a redshirt, should he choose to come back for another season, but will probably end up foregoing that and heading to the NFL if he is healthy enough during the combine.
Nole coach Jimbo Fisher released the following statement on Monday:
“After receiving information late in the afternoon following an MRI and a weight-bearing X-Ray and also awaiting to talk to Brandon Jenkins and his mother, it was determined that Brandon will miss the 2012 season with a Lisfranc injury.
