Found December 08, 2011 on The Cardinal Connect:
Teddy Bridgewater, Dexter Heyman, Hakeem Smith, and Adrian Bushell have been honored by the Big East conference. Bridgewater was the unanimous new comer of the year. Louisville has held that award three of the past four seasons. Hakeem Smith won the award last year, while Victor Anderson won it in 2008. Smith and Bushell were both named All Big East First Team Defense. Senior linebacker Dexter Heyman was surprisingly named to the second team. I thought Heyman was a realistic candidate for Big East Defensive POY, but the voters obviously felt otherwise. Cincinnati’s Butch Jones was voted Big East coach of the year over Charlie Strong. How that happened, I’ll never know. Strong’s team was predicted to finish in 7th place and ended up winning the league. That stat alone makes him the coach of the year, in my opinion.
