Vernon Frazier ran for two touchdowns and a career-high 167 yards as UTEP rolled to a 31-17 victory over Colorado State on Saturday night. The Miners (4-3) never trailed. They pulled out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter after Nick Lamaison found Nathan Jeffery with a 36-yard scoring pass and Frazier ran 48 yards for a touchdown. In the second quarter, Chad VanderMolen kicked a field goal and Momo Thomas scored on an interception return to help the Rams (3-4) pull within 14-10. They got no closer. After a power outage delayed the start of the second half, Frazier added an 83-yard touchdown run in the third quarter and Lamaison ran for a touchdown in the fourth to put the Miners out of reach. Lamaison finished with 116 yards passing and 47 running. The Rams' Pete Thomas threw for 162 yards but was sacked seven times.
