It was a game the Seminoles knew they needed to have. With a week off to prepare for Clemson in front of them, Florida State proved they were the world beaters we all thought they could be, and it also proved Maryland was not ready to be considered a Top 25 team just yet.The 63-0 win was especially sweet when the freshman sensation Jameis Winston threw for 393 yards and five scores. The Seminoles' offense was balanced and in control from the very start of the game.Karlos Williams added two scores on the ground and Rashad Greene had 108 receiving yards on four catches in the contest. Should FSU win in two weeks at Clemson, they will make a hard case for being one of the five best teams in the country and could have a legit shot at a national title. Here is the good, the bad and the ugly from Tallahassee. The GoodThe Seminoles are still the bully we thought they were. It was proven on offense and defense. The way the team came out and took the game over from the first quarter on was as impressive a display of performance as this team has played since their 77-0 win over Savannah State last season.I am happy to see the Noles use multiple players on offense and used a stinging defense. Seven players ran the ball and nine players caught passes. The Noles were benefitted by tight end Mick O’Leary’s two scores, his second multiple scoring game of the season. The BadAfter looking like they were sleepwalking through most of their game against Boston College, the FSU defense woke up from the opening gun.All world Terrapins wide receiver Stefan Diggs was held to two catches for 24 yards. Maryland could only manage 234 yards of total offense.Where the Noles had issues stopping the run this week, they shut the door on Maryland, a team that had 33 total rushing yards during the game.Florida State controlled the ball for 10 minutes more than Maryland. The UglyMaryland was 2-15 on third-down efficiency. You cannot win games if you cannot make a first down.FSU’s quick strike offense was an issue as well, scoring 42 points in the second half of the game. It seemed Jameis Winston got better as the game progressed. Florida State remained focused against a decent yet growing Maryland team. Now - the big  question - can they sustain momentum with a week off and time to perfect everything for the showdown with the Tigers?
