There were very few things pretty about the way the University of Missouri Tigers football team played last Saturday against the top-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide.
In fact, Nick Saban's led team dominated Mizzou physically from the first whistle until the last.
A display of that dominance came on a play in the closing minutes where Alabama linebacker LaMichael Fanning lifted Mizzou running back Russell Hansbrough off his feet and drove him over his shoulder into the ground.
It was a very dangerous play and Hansbrough has written an apology letter to Mizzou head coach Gary Pinkel and Hansbrough.
Pinkel, who is personal friends with Saban, feels the play was a mistake and is ready to move on.
“Nick called me, and we’re obviously friends," Pinkel said. "Nick Saban doesn’t teach anything like that -- ever. Thankfully, nobody was hurt. I don’t think there was any malice involved. A player just lost emotional control and made a mistake. No one got hu...

Halfway through their first season in the SEC, the University of Missouri football team is still without their first SEC conference victory.

Alabama head football coach Nick Saban chewed out Tide fans earlier this season for disrespecting Western Kentucky's chances of beating the reigning BCS title holder (which the Hilltoppers didn't do, of course). He also tried to deflate the notion that Bama was "invincible" later in the season. Saban's latest Mission: Impossible? Selling Saturday's opponent ...
We posted video of LaMichael Fanning's Summer Slam tackle on Monday because we thought it represented a perfect microcosm of Missouri's ill-fated attempt to play with the SEC big boys in Columbia. Then we moved on.
Apparently, nobody else did. The national media lost its collective mind, adding to the ever-growing list of disingenuous attempts to erase a century of not...
Alabama head coach Nick Saban refuted Tuesday's report which said quarterback AJ McCarron had a slightly torn meniscus, praised Tennessee's offense and discussed which players are capable punt returners at Wednesday night's presser.
Most everyone knows that between Alabama, Florida, LSU and Auburn, the SEC has won the last six National Championships, but this year there is one team, Oregon, who wants the opportunity to unseat the champion conference. The SEC, who will most likely be represented by the almost NFL Caliber Crimson Tide of Alabama will be ready to compete against whoever is on the other side....

No one can argue at this point about which team is number one in college football. It is without a doubt the Alabama Crimson Tide. They easily have the best offensive line in the nation led by center Barrett Jones (Sr. 6-5 302, no sacks allowed) and the rest of the line is loaded with definite future NFL talent. The Tide are currently 25th overall in rushing with 217.2 yards per...
Oh look, a gratuitous picture of Charles Barkley.

"I bet you never thought you'd hear the words 'I can't...
Alabama head coach Nick Saban wouldn't say if he's suspended defensive end LaMichael Fanning for his body slam tackle of a Missouri player last week, but explained Alabama is handling the matter "internally."
