This story should not come as a surprise to too many people as Ken Malcome has tussled with the idea of transferring once before, but this time his decision is sure to stick. In mid-December, there was some chatter about Malcome’s continuing unrest in Georgia’s backfield; It was clear then that he wasn’t happy with the division of playing time amongst the running backs, and was searching for a solution; obviously he didn’t find one and finally decided his best option was to leave and start fresh someplace else. “I have made this decision because I think I can get more playing time some place else,” Malcome said in a statement. “I have enjoyed my time at Georgia and appreciate the opportunity that Coach (Mark) Richt and the other coaches have given me here. I look forward to my next challenge.” (Anthony Dasher, ugasports) With Richard Samuel graduating, Georgia’s depth at running back will take a small hit, but not nearly as significant as the one it was dealt in 2010 when the departures of both Caleb King (academically ineligible) and Washaun Ealey (transfer) left Georgia with only true freshman sensation Isaiah Crowell, walk-on Brandon Harton, and Carlton Thomas as legitimate [...]
