Found October 08, 2012 on Down and Distance:

On Saturday the Georgia Bulldogs took a beating against the South Carolina Gamecocks as they lost 35-7. With the loss, the Bulldogs now no longer control their own destiny in the SEC East. The loss had to be difficult for the players. Apparently, it was difficult for a handful of fans as well.

Linebacker Christian Robinson claimed on his Twitter account a few hours after the loss that he came home to the residence he shares with starting quarterback Aaron Murray and found it had been egged and toilet papered.  The senior indicated that it was the handiwork of some disgruntled fans.

Came to a house that was egged and rolled. Seems that people turn on you when you’re not perfect. Thought we were in this together.

Wrote Murray on Twitter, “yep what a great thing to come home to for us.”

For his part, head coach Mark Richt brushed off the “sad” incident and chalked it up to people getting “upset” over such things as a football game.

“Sometimes that comes with the territory,” he said. “You’re a public figure and people get upset about things. It’s sad something like that would happen but it’s not shocking people get criticism or something like that happened to them when they’re in the type position those guys are in, especially the quarterback position.”

If it was indeed UGA fans who decided to take their frustrations out on the players’ home, it shouldn’t paint the entire fan base as one huge get-a-life group.  Those responsible, though, might want to take note of the attitude of one of the players who was the target of their angst and realize their priorities are more-than-slightly out of whack.

Still get to be a hero this morning to little kids at Athens Church. There are more important things in life than wins and loses. #Heaven

Murray's father diagnosed with cancer before game

No. 13 Georgia survives Kentucky, 29-24

Kentucky seemingly had an answer for everything No. 13 Georgia could offer Saturday night. Everything, at least, that didn't come from the right arm of Bulldogs quarterback Aaron Murray. Kentucky (1-7, 0-5) led three times and started the fourth quarter with the ball and a chance for a signature win again but fell 29-24 as Georgia (6-1, 4-1) handed the Wildcats their sixth...

Intolerable Acts of Fandom
