After a season-opening home series win over South Carolina last weekend, Southeastern Conference baseball was not nearly as kind to Mississippi State this weekend.
The Bulldogs lost today, 10-6 , giving Georgia sweep of a series played in front of record crowds at Foley Field in Athens, Ga.
Fourth-ranked Georgia scored seven runs in the eighth inning off MSU reliever Chad Crosswhite.
Ryan Duffy was 3-for-5 for State while Scott DeLoach and Connor Powers were 2-for-4.
State is now 13-9.
It'll travel to South Alabama Tuesday and host Memphis Wednesday before traveling to Arkansas for a three-game series Friday-Sunday.
