Georgia Tech (8-4) vs Utah (7-5)
I find Georgia Tech quite hard to assess. I say this because even though they started out 6-0, they finished the season a measly 2-4 with terrible games against Miami, VT, and UGA.
Paul Johnson is in his fourth season with the Yellow Jackets, and like Northwestern and Fitzi, Johnson has been to 3 bowls and is winless in all of them. Johnson needs to get a W in a bowl game for the Yellow Jacket fans to be pleased. I say this with no certainty at all and no insight into the program, so it’s pretty much a blanket statement.
The Yellow Jackets, and their triple option offense, are ranked 2nd in the nation in rushing yards per game. That’s a great stat, but when your passing offense is ranked 112th overall you may need to expand your OPTIONS a little. Pun intended.

How does an 8-5 season feel like a huge letdown? When you lose 5 of your final 7 games, including a 3rd straight loss to your in-state rival and lose a mind boggling 7th straight bowl game. Up 24-10 in the fourth quarter Georgia Tech was minutes from changing the perception of their entire offseason. A 9 win season with a top 25 finish and optimism would abound. Instead Paul Johnson...
