After the surprising arrest of Issiah Crowel, followed by his immediate release from the team, some fans are calling for Mark Richt to be fired.  Going into the 2012-2013 season 4 starters will be missing when UGA takes the field.  Some people who follow the Georgia program are starting to say that Richt is soft and because of that he is having trouble controlling his program.  Every year it seams that UGA has four or five key players who miss time because they have clashed with the law, or have been suspended because of Georgia’s strict drug testing program.

Since coach Richt is a soft spoken guy who is faster to forgive rather than publicly discipline his players, most fans blame him directly for the issues going on with these players instead of the players who actually get themselves into these situations.  They know that they will be randomly tested for drugs and that it is illegal to carry guns, or that they have to attend class and follow required rules as a student athlete in order to continue to play football.  I would put the blame on the people making the decisions not on the coach.

Some fans also think that it is time to replace Mark Richt because he has not delivered a national championship to Athens.  I say, talk to Kentucky or Vanderbilt or Texas A&M and see how many winning seasons they have had in the last ten years.  Ask them if they would like to have Georgia’s record and see how fast they will exchange almost every single seasons record with UGA.

This school has over the last five years brought in top five and top ten recruiting classes. What else do you want?

They recognized when the defensive coordinator was not on par with the rest of the SEC and promptly replaced him.  What else do you want?

It only took two years for UGA  to emerge into one of the top 10 defenses in the country?   Finally UGA is starting to build up their roster with talented players so they, much like Alabama, can rotate a new player in once the old player has left for the NFL and get better. What else do you want?

Look at the signing class they have working for next year.  They are actually addressing needs and filling in gaps so for at least the next 4 years (If they can get depth at offensive linemen) this team will be stacked. WHAT ELSE DO YOU WANT?

Now I have to admit, (even though we are from the same home town) Mike Bobo, UGA fans have a pink slip with your name on it if you can not produce this year.  Take a note from the Falcons and “get more explosive.”  Outside of that the future is bright for UGA.  By the way, CAN YOU HEAR ME MR. (Derrick) HENRY… Come on down!  You can be the running back to get the shot to be the next Herschel Walker.  All those other schools are great, but if you come to UGA, you will be going to the league in two short years.  I think you will be surprised with the level of Quarterback that you will be working with between the hedges.  There will also be a great host of wide receivers all around you including a couple track stars!  Bring a couple O-Linemen with you and we will see you in the four team playoff very soon!
