Missouri freshman wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham, once considered the nations top recruit entering the 2012 season, was arrested for suspicion of marijuana possession Wednesday in Columbia, Mo., and will be suspended for Saturdays home game against Vanderbilt. Late Wednesday night, University of Missouri police arrested Green-Beckham on charges of possession of 35 grams or less of marijuana near Memorial Stadium. Freshman linebacker Torey Boozer and freshman wide receiver Levi Copelin were with Green-Beckham in the same vehicle and arrested on the same charges. Missouri confirmedfreshman defensive tackle Harold Brantley and freshman tight end Brandon Holifield were also with the other players and were not arrested, but will be suspended for the Vanderbilt game, along with Boozer and Copelin. Each arrested player was released on signature summons. "We have possession of marijuana arrests throughout the year from parking lots, residence halls and all the above," University of Missouri police captain Brian Weimer said. "Its a city municipal charge, so hell be referred to municipal courts." Green-Beckham, a Springfield, Mo., native, was considered a recruiting coup for coach Gary Pinkel before his programs first SEC season in 2012. The 6-foot-6, 220-pound wide receiver has seven catches for 128 yards and four carries for 20 yards this fall. His lone touchdown occurred in a victory over Central Florida last Saturday, when he caught an 80-yard pass from junior quarterback James Franklin in the second quarter. Missouri (3-2, 0-2 SEC) is one of four SEC East teams winless in the conference.
